TREE MANIFESTO

This is a self initiated project where I wanted to emphasise deforestation.

A human being in 2 years consumes nearly a whole tree solely through toilet paper. There are 7 billion people on this earth, not every single one uses toilet paper, but many billions do. So in 2 years, thats billions of trees consumed through toilet paper alone. This fact isn't well known, and I wanted to highlight it.

On 7 toilet rolls I print screened a flourishing tree. After each sheet of paper is used the tree begins to get smaller and smaller until all that is left is the stump. Once the paper is used, The cardboard roll is seen. On the roll which was also print screened, is this fact: Worldwide, the equivalent of almost 270,000 trees are either flushed or dumped in landfills everyday, and roughly 10% of that is attributed to toilet paper. One tree produces about 100 pounds (45kg) of toilet paper. On average 1 person uses a whole tree every 2 years. Toilet paper wipes out 27,000 trees a day.
