Zero minus O

Throughout my time at university I had used hundreds of different typefaces, some became my favourites others did not. But what made me curious was how similar the zero and the o in each typeface were. This led me to create a brief where I would examine the exact difference.

This typography project compares zero to 0 in 584 different typefaces printed on a sheet that is bigger in height than A0 and required a special printer.

When examined the actual differences were so minor that they almost cancelled each other out. Thus creating in essence a brand new o or 0 for that typeface.
